Query about controlling Private Messages

This question has cropped up in discussion on another thread - can any VEF Administrator (or Moderator) say if there is any method of extending the 'allowed' group in VEF Private Messages control to add Veteran Members (VETs) as a group to the existing specific group allowed of Moderators? i.e. in Control Panel/Edit Options/Messaging and Notification/Private Messaging there is a tick box for 'receive PMs only from contacts and moderators'. I believe this also includes Administrators but it certainly does not currently include VETs. Obviously we do not want to allow all messages. The only way I can see of doing it at the moment is to locate every VET's ID and add it to the 'contacts' profile. Ideas or comments please.

In Jacksonville, Florida, the Playtime Drive In was the ONLY porn theatre to survive the conservative , mostly Baptist town's efforts to rid the city of the "evil plague of sin".

It was built in 1949 as the Twin Hills Drive In, but WW2 laws concerning blackouts were still in effect, so it didn't officially open until 1952. It was sold in 1969 to Fuhrman Birchfield ("Dempsey" to everyone who knew him) who named it The Playboy, but changed it to The Playtime when Hugh Hefner's lawyers came to call on him.

In 1980, city ordinances banned hard core pornography and by 1985, The Playtime was the only place in Jacksonville where you could watch the now sanitized classic porn. I began working there that year as a part time projectionist. Here is some super 8 film I shot in 1985 when it was X rated and in 2007, during the flea market, 6 months before it was sold to Christ Church Anglican.

In 2007, I was asked to manage the drive in during its final 8 months of operation until it was sold to Christ Church. When the church took it over, they discovered Dempsey's old library of films, most of which were stored within the walls of the projection booth and rotted beyond repair. The church held a ceremonial burning of some of the prints, don't know exactly how much was actually burned, but it caused an uproar with some folks who cried "Nazi".They also had a fire truck to "baptize" the grounds. I no longer live in the US, so I don't know what their status is today, but I hear the church has the property back up for sale. Anyone want to buy an old drive in theatre?

How many have ever had this experience: You're dating a girl who is a straight laced, religious family type, never seen a porn in her life and you, "enlighten" here.

What is it about pregnant chicks that turn some guys on? When I was out in LA about 15 years ago, I came into possession of some super 8 home movies and some VHS tapes when I bought some old 8mm film gear at a garage sale. I was told that the films were home movies of the previous tenants of the house and that it was a couple who was killed in an auto accident. Don't know if she had had the baby by then or not, details on these folks were sketchy and the guy that moved into the house just wanted to rid himself of everything connected to the dead previous tenants.

Anyway, what I found was some nude images of this girl in various stages of pregnancy. I would date these films to the late 70's as the VHS was some of the first to come out (faded tube camera stuff, the super 8 film is very scratched,grainy and pink) Nothing seriously pornographic, no shots of the boyfriend doing her, however there is a brief shot where you can see him finger her hairy snatch briefly as he films it. I asked the guy I bought the stuff from if there were any family members of either the girl or the guy and he said he didn't know for sure, but would guess if there were, they had written both of them off as the couple was heavily into drugs and other illegal activities.

What kind of legal area do these films fall in? There is no copyright and they're almost 40 years old, the people are dead now and the possibility of someone recognizing this girl is relatively slim. I was told that she was a dancer, possibly a hooker as well and that the couple kept a low profile as hubby dealt coke and other stuff. I know if I put them out on the net,there is a chance someone would come out of the woodwork and try to sue me, and I'm not interested in that anyway. I would just want to have them digitized and preserved, which I will probably do myself. I'm just wondering for my own edification. They're probably not worth anything anyway as the girl's a virtual nobody, I'm just into preservation and I thought this was an interesting story.

Here's another memory, don't know if it's real or not, but it's very vivid from childhood. Back in the early 60's, some porn publishers used to mail out samples to people's houses if you had gotten on their mailing list. My dad got on such a mailing list as he owned a store at the time and sold Pl**b*y on his magazine rack (Did I do that right?).My mom usually destroyed it all before anyone saw it, but there was one time we got a package of photos that came from someone who's name and address he recognized as an acquaintance. The package looked like a phonograph record and this interested my dad as he and my mom were also professional musicians, yet when he opened it, he found pictures of a family out on the water in a pretty nice sailing yacht. Everyone in the pictures was either nude or semi nude. I remember one shot of several nude people on the boat's deck pulling a young guy or girl ( can't remember which now, I was about 4 or 5 then) through the water as the boat sailed. I also remember this really hot brunette, totally nude standing by the boat's wheel looking out on the ocean. My parents weren't even acknowledging the fact that they were nude but were rather disappointed that it wasn't a phonograph which was unusual for them, yet these weren't porno pics, this was just a family of nudist boaters. Has anyone ever run across stills of nude boaters on a sailing yacht , circa 1964-65?

Miramax has come up with a bracket made up of their films. I wonder who did the seeding, as there are some starting pair-ups that seem to have films of the same 'strength' (i.e., the Crow versus Chasing Amy, as two strong films; and Garden State versus Dead Man, as two weak films.)
